Emory Ship

Certified Nurse-Midwife & Women's Health Nurse Practitioner

Emory Ship,
I am a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) with over two decades of clinical experience in New York City. My career has been devoted entirely to women's health across midwifery, gynecology, fertility and pelvic pain – from adolescence through post-menopause, and every stage in between.
I began my career as a mother-baby nurse at NYU Langone before training as a Certified Nurse-Midwife, joining a full-scope midwifery practice, then later joining Downtown Women OB/GYN, where I provided routine gynecology, contraceptive care, and prenatal and postpartum support for over a decade. I went on to serve as Clinical Director at Tia, and as a pelvic pain specialist at Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine, where I focused on chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis.
I founded Harbor Gynecology to create the kind of practice I always believed we deserved: one where appointments are unhurried, questions are welcomed, and care is truly individualized. I lead with a trauma-informed, patient-led approach: listening deeply, validating each patient's experience, and building individualized care plans — without judgment, and without assumptions about identity, anatomy, or history.
As your practitioner, I listen deeply, provide evidence-based guidance, and partner with you – not prescribe to you. Every visit is a collaboration between patient and provider – whether you are coming in for a routine visit or navigating something more complex, you will always leave feeling heard, informed, and cared for. In a time where healthcare can feel transactional, I wanted to build something different – a harbor.
I hold a BS in Nursing from New York University and an MS in Midwifery from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. I am a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Menopause Society, and the International Pelvic Pain Society.

Philosophy of care

A safe place to land, at every stage of life.

Unhurried appointments

Every visit is given the time it deserves. You will never feel rushed or dismissed.

Inclusive and affirming🏳️‍🌈

Harbor Gynecology is a welcoming space for all.

Evidence-based and holistic

I integrate the best of clinical medicine with a whole-person approach. Your care plan is built around you, not a template.

Trauma-informed care

I am a trauma-informed provider. Every interaction is guided by principles of safety, trust, and empowerment — because your history matters, and you deserve care that honors it.
